A Family Affair
Lead Genetic Counselor from the Stanford Center for Inherited CVD provides a practical and comprehensive overview of the role of genetic counseling in the care of CVD patients with inherited Cardiovascular disorders.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Briefly review definitions of terms pertinent to the science of genetics/genomics.
- Describe the landscape of genetic counseling as it relates to inherited cardiovascular disorders: cardiomyopathy, heart rhythm disorders, FH, vascular disease.
- Using a case study, illustrate the collaborative relationship between genetics counselor, nurses, other clinicians, and families.
